20 มิถุนายน 2567  ดร.วิจารย์ สิมาฉายา ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันสิ่งแวดล้อมไทย ในฐานะที่ปรึกษาของโครงการ The Indo-Pacific Plastics Innovation Network (IPPIN) หรือ เครือข่ายนวัตกรรมพลาสติกในภูมิภาคอินโด-แปซิฟิก ได้เข้าร่วมกล่าวเปิดงาน 2024 IPPIN Incubator-Peer Review ร่วมกับ Kim Wimbush, CSIRO Counsellor, Vietnam และ Nugroho Adi Sasongko, Director of Research Center for Sustainable Production System and Life Cycle Assessment, Jakarta โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมจำนวน 100 ท่านจาก 32 ทีมที่ผ่านการเข้าอบรมจากประเทศ Australia & New Zealand, Brazil, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Thailand and Vietnam

โดยโครงการดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ ภารกิจยุติขยะพลาสติกของ The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) 

ซึ่งมีเป้าหมายในการลดขยะพลาสติกที่เข้าสู่สิ่งแวดล้อมของออสเตรเลียให้ได้ร้อยละ 80 ภายในปี 2573 

ทั้งนี้ The Thailand Plastic Innovation Chapter works in partnership with: 

• The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
• National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) 
• Thailand Environment Institute (TEI)
